Clear Hearth Incense

The practice of clearing a space with smoke is older than recorded history. Every tradition that's ever kept a hearth has done some version of this.

Clear Hearth is a loose incense blend, herbs chosen from the folk record for their long association with clearing, protecting, and blessing a home. Cedar is the ancient protector, clearing stagnant energy and strengthening the perimeter of a place. Willow bark releases gently — what no longer belongs, tied in tradition to emotional clearing and grief. Rose brings warmth back to a space gone cold or hard. Lavender quiets the mind and settles the room like a held breath finally let out. Orange peel lifts the atmosphere, traditionally tied to abundance and renewed energy. Mugwort closes it out — the threshold herb, long used for clearing, protection, and blessing doorways.

To use: Burn a pinch on a charcoal disc in a fire-safe dish. Let the smoke move through the space, then open a window. Sprinkle along windowsills or thresholds, or keep a small open dish to gently scent a space over time.

Ingredients: Cedar, willow bark, rose, lavender, orange peel, mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris).

Cautions: For use with proper ventilation only. Never leave burning incense unattended. Keep away from children, pets, and flammable materials. Not recommended for those with asthma or respiratory sensitivities.
