Deep Woods Chest Balm

The Virginia pine doesn't grow for decoration. It grows because the Ohio River Valley land calls for something that stays standing through winter — resinous, sharp, deeply rooted. We start infusing it in July, wild-foraged straight off the property, so it's ready well before the season that actually needs it.

Pinus virginiana, slow-infused in sunflower oil, set with beeswax, and sharpened with pine and wintergreen essential oils. Rub it onto the chest and throat when congestion settles in. Breathe. The pine does the rest.

Folk tradition has used pine resin for respiratory support for as long as people have lived among pine trees. There's nothing complicated about it. The plant knows what it's doing.

Ingredients: Virginia pine (Pinus virginiana) infused in sunflower oil, beeswax, pine essential oil, wintergreen essential oil.

How to use: Rub a small amount onto the chest or throat. Use at the first sign of congestion or as nightly support through cold season.

Cautions: Contains wintergreen essential oil — do not use on infants or children under 6 without consulting a healthcare provider, and keep away from the nose, mouth, and eyes on young children. Not for internal use. External use only. Consult your healthcare provider if pregnant, nursing, or taking blood-thinning medication.
