Comfrey Salve — The Green Mender
Comfrey Salve
Wound-weaver. Bone-binder. The quiet healer of the garden.
Comfrey's old name is knitbone — farmers were calling it that long before anyone had a Latin binomial to put on it, because that's simply what the plant was known to do. We infuse the root slow in sunflower oil until it turns a deep gold, then thicken it with shea butter and beeswax into something rich enough to actually sit on skin and work.
Rub it into tired hands, bruised knees, cranky backs, or the mystery twinge you earned from sleeping wrong. Folk tradition has long used comfrey for bruises, sprains, strains, joint pain, and skin gone dry or cracked from work that doesn't stop for weather.
Ingredients: Comfrey root (Symphytum officinale) infused in sunflower oil, unrefined shea butter, local beeswax.
How to use: Massage into sore muscles, joints, bruises, or dry skin as needed.
Cautions: External use only. Do not use on open wounds, deep punctures, or broken skin. Not for prolonged, continuous use — for occasional use on intact skin only. Consult your healthcare provider before use if pregnant or nursing.
